Annual Sagamore Council Terry Beasy Memorial Shoot

Sagamore Council is pleased to share it will be hosting it's annual Terry Beasy Memorial Shoot on Saturday September 12, 2026. Hosted at Camp Buffalo. This event is a sporting clay shoot open to all individuals and teams. All participants who wish to shoot must bring their own shotgun. Shells are provided for the trap shoot but participants in the sporting clays must bring their own shells. Youth 11-18 must be either a registered member of Scouting America or 4-H AND accompanied by a participating adult over the age of 21. No membership requirements for shooters 18 and over. All proceeds benefit the local Scouting programs at Camp Buffalo which provides state of the art shooting complex for local 4-H, law enforcement agencies, Scout units, schools, and other organizations.

Camp Buffalo is located at 9400 N. Boy Scout Road, Monticello, IN 47960.
Price
There are multiple ways to participate in this event, as such there are different fees depending on how you'd like to participate. Individuals can do the sporting clays for $50. This fee includes the 10 stations 50 bird sporting clays course plus the dinner and auction. Individuals can also participate in the trap shoot for an additional $25 fee, ammunition provided. Individuals wishing to participate in the dinner and auction only will be charged a $20 fee. Teams can be purchased for $1,000. Team registration includes 5 individuals for the sporting clay shoot outlined before plus a table gun.
Times
Doors open and registartion begins at 1:00 PM at the Dining Hall.
Saftey meeting will start at 1:55 PM outside the Dining Hall. See safety below but all participants must be at the safety meeting.
Event starts at 2:00 PM
Dinner starts at 5:30 PM
Auction starts immediately following dinner.

Auction
There will be a live auction held during this event immediately following dinner. If you have items you wish to put into the auction, please contact event staff as soon as possible using the contact us button below. All auction items must be disclosed to event staff on or before September 1st.
Table Gun
Each team registration will recieve one table gun as a thank you. This year we have tentatively selected the Diamondback AR .233 Semi-Automatic rifle as the table gun. The Carbon Series DB15 is Diamondback’s entry level line, offering an outstanding value in an AR-15. The Carbon Series provides all of the reliability and basic features that you need from a rifle and nothing that you don’t. Outfitted with Magpul furniture, a DB Carbon lower, and an M-LOK compatible free float handguard, the Carbon Series DB15 is ready for anything at a price you can afford. This gun is subject to change due to availability with our arms dealer. Check back here for more information as we get closer to the event.
Gun Auction

This year we will be conducting a gun raffle with pre-event tickets. Raffle tickets will be $20 for single entry. The gun is a Henry H004 Golden Boy Standard Lever 22 LR 20". The Golden Boy rifle’s awesome 20-inch blued octagonal barrel, American walnut stock, brass buttplate and gleaming Brasslite receiver will transport you back to the wild and wooley days of America’s Old West, when Benjamin Tyler Henry designed the original Henry lever action rifle. Tickets can be purchased between now and September 12th 6:00 PM EDT. Need not be present to win. Guns are purchased from Liberty Arms Inc. in Monticello, IN. Winners will have to pick up their guns at Libery Arms Inc. after the event ends and must pass any and all requirements set by Liberty Arms Inc. such as a background check.

Parking
When you arrive on Boy Scout Road, you will see our new pool on the east side of the road. Starting just north of the pool house up to the main entrance of camp is parking along the tree line on the east side of the road. If needed, a lane entrance will be opened just north of the dining hall and south of the main entrance for parking on the west side of Boy Scout Road. For the saftey of everyone, please do not drive on camp property. Violators of this may be asked to leave and not refunded.
Safety
We take your safety very seriously. Any violations to these rules will result in your immediate removal from the event with no refund. As mentioned above, please park in the designated parking lots. Driving through camp is stricly prohibited for the safety of pedestrians. All weapons on camp are to be secured and unloaded. Once you reach your station and you are ready to shoot can you load your firearm with the saftey on if you weapon has one. Remember gun safety, keep the gun pointed in a safe direction, keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to shoot, and always ensure your firearm is empty before properly storing it to go to the next station. Some events may have specific rules such as trap shoot allowing for one shell to be loaded at a time. Pay attention to any and all commands from event staff and range officers. Before the shot begins, there will be a manditory saftey meeting for all participants. Information presented there and given to you by event staff at the stations will take precident over any other instructions. Please follow these instructions and basic gun handleing best practices to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone for years to come. As mentioned above, youth 11-18 are allowed to participate in the shoot as long as they are a registered member of Scouting America or 4-H AND have an adult participating adult over the age of 21 accompaning them.
